This gives a performance advantage as it will reduce un sprung mass at the rear hub. This helps to improve both acceleration and turn in due the lower inertia generated at the rear hub.

The extra pieces of alloy around the rear of each cush drive as shown, stops fatigued cush drive bobbins from separating and causing damage to the eccentric rear hub. This is a known weak point on rear cush drives and eliminated by this sprocket adapter.
